Commission statement on Oncor media reports

August 19, 2017 by Brad Bayliff

With respect to a variety of media reports issued in the last 48 hours, the Public Utility Commission would like to remind all media outlets and parties that any agreements entered into by Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) Staff or other stakeholders are not binding upon the Commissioners and should not be represented as such. PUCT Commissioners serve in a quasi-judicial capacity, deliberate independently of PUCT Staff and others that actively participate as parties in contested proceedings as required by the Texas Administrative Procedures Act and must independently determine that proposed transactions are in the public interest.
