Entergy Texas requests docket number for new transmission line in Montgomery and Walker Counties, Texas

August 2, 2017 by Brad Bayliff

On August 1, 2017, Entergy Texas requested the Public Utility Commission of Texas issue a docket number for a new transmission line in Montgomery and Walker Counties, Texas. The Commission assigned the project to Docket Number 47462. Entergy will file its application in the assigned docket. Parties in the case will submit all other filings in that docket, too.

Entergy has information about future transmission projects available on its web site. This project is part of the Western Regional Economic Project. Information about the project also is available on the Entergy web site. Entergy’s web site describes the western portion of the Western Regional Economic Project as construction of one new 230 kV transmission line by mid-2020 between the Lewis Creek Substation near Willis, Texas and one of the following endpoint options: 1. the Grimes Substation near Shiro, Texas; 2. a new Rocky Creek Substation west of Huntsville, Texas; or 3. a new Quarry Substation north of Huntsville, Texas. More information will be available when Entergy files its application at the PUC.
