On August 13, 2009, the Public Utility Commission of Texas issued an Order approving a settlement agreement regarding the sequencing of filing of CCN applications for CREZ transmission line cases. The Commission’s Order on Rehearing in Docket No. 35665 required the parties to file a jointly-proposed sequencing agreement 30 days after ERCOT filed its analysis and sequencing recommendation.
The designated transmission service providers (TSPs) proposed a total of 23 CCN applications for the subject transmission lines. The Staff is concerned that Commission resources would be “unduly burdened” if too many CREZ CCN applications were filed at one time. Commission Staff determined that Commission resources would be used most efficiently and effectively if the applications were filed in eight groups of three applications, spread three weeks apart so the applications can be processed on a procedural schedule that complies with Texas statutes and the Commission’s rules.
The Order requires TSPs to file the applications between March 1, 2010, and July 26, 2010.
